The Netherlands Gaming Authority, KSA, is going to crack down harder on gambling influencers and has imposed a first penalty payment on influencer LeftlanePapi in this context.

The number of reports of influencers who post images on various social media platforms about how they gamble illegally has been increasing recently.
The KSA said that it takes these reports "very seriously because these influencers appeal to a very young target group with their activities."
If influencers do not remove their content within 48 hours after a warning from the KSA, sanctions will be imposed. The YouTube channel LeftlanePapi showed videos with live streams of online gambling from illegal providers.
Active advertising was also made for the illegal providers, by encouraging viewers to play there as well. The KSA subsequently issued a warning to the influencer.
Because the content in question was not removed after the warning and new streams were made, the KSA is now imposing a penalty payment. Existing content must be removed and no new advertising may be made.
If this does happen, the influencer will receive a penalty of €25,000 per violation, with a maximum of €75,000. With its new approach, the KSA opts for a two-track policy.
After establishing a violation, influencers will receive a message that they must stop their activities within 48 hours and that illegal content must be removed.
If the influencer does not do so, the KSA said it will approach the social media platform so that the harmful content is removed in any case. The influencer will be given a penalty under penalty, as was also the case with Leftlanepapi.
