Jonathan James, a recognized IT-security professional, will be the opening keynote speaker at the Combating Cybercrime conference on January 22.

As a consultant and advisor, James specialises in tracking down cyber criminals, as well as analysing networks and developing software.

His client list includes several of the world’s largest organisations, ranging from Microsoft to the FBI.

Between 1999 and 2001, James’ work attracted worldwide media attention when he tracked down the authors of the infamous Melissa and Love-letter worms.

The Combating Cybercrime conference runs parallel to the ICEi exhibition in Earls Court.

Other speakers include Mark Davis, detective inspector of the Metropolitan Police’s eCrime Unit; Lennart Ehlinger group security controller for Unibet; and Keith Foggon, head of digital forensics at the UK’s Serious Fraud Office.
