Kansas posted US$8.1m in sports betting revenue in September, with the state’s first year-on-year comparison showing a 523.1 per cent increase.

A year after opening to sports wagering in September 2022, the Sunflower State also posted record handle of $219.3m, up 36.6 per cent year-on-year.

Month-on-month, revenue was up 68.8 per cent compared to August, with handle up 132.3 per cent.

Online sports betting accounted for $7.6m of the $8.1m in revenue, with retail contributing $459,336.

DraftKings and its retail sports betting partner Boot Hill Casino led the way for revenue in Kansas in September, generating $3.3m from a combined handle of $97.2m.
