There is an increasing possibility that one of the Channel Islands will take the UK government to court.

Jersey has set itself up as an internet gambling jurisdiction to compete with other offshore dependencies of the UK, Alderney and the Isle of Man. But access to the UK market is denied unless you are on the white list approved by the British government and only Alderney and the Isle of Man are on that.
Now after long talks between Jersey and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport in the UK, which is responsible for gambling, a white listing for Jersey still hasn't been issued. It is understood that Jersey is now seeking legal opinion about the “unlevel playing field.”
