The International Olympic Committee has announced the creation of a betting monitoring programme ahead of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games and the 2012 London Olympics, to combat corruption in sports.

Swiss company International Sports Monitoring will watch the betting at the Vancouver and London Olympics and get information on betting patterns from 400-450 oddsmakers, betting firms and lotteries and highlight any irregularities for investigation.
