BetRivers.com is the first online sports betting site in Illinois, US, created from a partnership between Rush Street Interactive and Rivers Casino Des Plaines.
It gives the Kentucky Derby owner, Churchill Downs entry into the state’s online sports betting market.
Churchill Downs Inc with its online horse racing platform, TwinSpires and 11,000 slots in land-based gaming across eight states, owns Rivers Casino Des Plaines in a joint venture with Rush Street Gaming.
The new sports betting platform went online on Thursday of last week, streaming hundreds of sporting events upon which players may place bets, beginning with the return of the Premier League in the UK and next month opening up with NBA, WNBA and NHL, plus the German Bundesliga and other events.
Players are able to sign up for a BetRivers.com account online or through mobile app under a temporary executive order made by Governor Pritzker overriding the Illinois Sports Betting statute that requires account registration to occur in person and on-site at the associated casino location.
