It has been reported that talk show host Montel Williams has been hit with a lawsuit alleging that he accepted a US$300,000 pre-payment from Guardian Gaming.
According to a report from Gaming Intelligence, Guardian Gaming and the International Poker Leaugue entered a binding agreement in July 2008 to set up a Nevada limited liability corporation for the purposes of promoting, operating and hosting an international poker league. Williams allegedly went back on his word however and no refund on the investement was made.
The lawsuit was filed by attorneys representing Guardian Gaming (an online gaming company licensed by the Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority) and the company is seeking judgement for the return of $300,000 plus damages, interest and legal costs.
