It was announced on the first day of IGE at Earls Court last week that Novomatic has acquired Greentube.

Speaking to iNTERGAMINGi at the show, Greentube’s Alfred Hofer explained that Novomatic wanted to acquire a games developer to take its games online and have since acquired 70 per cent of Greentube. "We will stay mostly independent though," said Hofer, who also confirmed that the company will keep development of the 3D games that it has been working on recently.

Greentube hopes and plans to retain the 30 per cent of the company that it now holds and according to Hofer, the company has plans for expansion with its current team of 70 developers set to increase to 120 within the next two years.

Greentube also used IGE to showcase its new slots and new versions of video poker. "Customers have also been requesting online scratch cards so we hope to be able to launch something on the last day of the show," said Hofer.
