Following an agreement with Marathon and ICS, the GBI Racing TV channel will be streamed online to fixed-odds markets in Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Moldova.
Sportsbook operator Marathon has contracted ICS to supply Russian commentaries and voiceovers for all races shown on GBI Racing. GBI chairman Richard Brooke said: “The tone of the voiceovers and commentaries will be very much to demystify and educate the newcomer to the sport and we believe this will generate interest and excitement around British and Irish racing."
Graham Luke, director of international operations at Marathon, said the aim was to present UK and Irish horseracing as an “entertaining, engaging, quality product.”
He added: “We have felt from the start that presented in the right way our customers would understand it and enjoy it - and so it is proving.”
