Betting revenues from igaming in France rose by 55 per cent to a record €147m during the first quarter, regulator Arjel reported.
Sports wagers were up by 34 per cent to a record €847m, with soccer bets up 34 per cent and basketball 53 per cent in the period.
The average number of weekly active bettors rose 36 per cent to 462,000, compared to 341,000 in Q1 2017, due to a 53 per cent rise in bonus offers.
There were 1.3m player accounts active at least once during the quarter, a rise of 40 per cent compared to 900,000 players in the same period a year ago.
