The start of the NFL action in the US has seen a surge in online betting, reports America’s Associated Press.

The level of online sports betting in the NFL’s first match rose by 77 per cent from last year’s comparative opening games, says GeoComply, the company that compiles data.
It recorded 22.6 million location verification transactions last Thursday before the Buffalo Bills met the Los Angeles Rams, up from the 12.7 millin at the same point of last year.
It would suggest, says the statistics company, "the biggest season yet" for legalised betting on the NFL.
