The Dutch Gambling Authority (Ksa) has taken action against three legal providers after the ban on indiscriminate advertising that came into effect on July 1.

The violations were immediately ceased thereafter. At one of the three providers, gamblers could win a special T-shirt with the name and logo of the provider on it.
Distributing "merchandise" is prohibited because it constitutes indiscriminate advertising that will be visible in public spaces. Two other providers violated the ban on indiscriminate advertising by going beyond a neutral expression in their sponsorship activities.
Although sports sponsorship and sponsorship of television and radio programmes are still allowed, there are strict rules in place. The sponsorship expression must not be more than a neutral representation that identifies the provider, such as the logo or brand name of a provider.
In one of the two providers, the slogan was also heard and seen in programme sponsorship, which, according to the Ksa, does not qualify as a neutral expression. In the case of the second provider, visitors to a sports event were encouraged to use the provider's app through the expression.
