A reorganisation at sports betting operator DraftKings has resulted in 140 staff members being laid off in Europe, Asia and the East.

The move, reported by Sportico, concerns workers from the engineering and HR sectors, but the lay-offs still amount to a small percentage of the company’s work force.

In a statement, the company said: “With an increased focus on operational efficiencies, we are constantly evaluating our teams to ensure that they are best positioned to meet our company goals in 2023 and beyond.

"We have decidred to reorganise some teams, which is resulting in the elimination of approximately 140 roles.”

DraftKings is projecting a full year revenue of $2.16 to $2.19bn and for the current year between $2.8 and $3bn.
