Ladbrokes' potential takeover of Sportingbet may not go ahead it has been reported.
The Financial Times reported that Ladbrokes could walk away from the deal because the company’s lawyers are concerned about the regulatory risks of owning Sportingbet, which receives 22 per cent of its net gaming revenues from Turkey.
Online gambling is currently banned in Turkey but even if Sportingbet sells its Turkish business, the deal looks to be hanging in the balance.
Legacy risk issues prevented Ladbrokes buying 888 Holdings in April 2007.
