The Gaming Control Authority’s (AJ) executive director, Dr. Marco Antonio Sánchez Vaca, said at the Initial Public Accountability Hearing 2024 that the regulator will intensify operations and close sites found to be breaching regulations.

Vaca added that so far this year, 27 interventions have been carried out in the Bolivian market, with 99 pieces of game equipment confiscated.

The AJ will also organise workshops for content creators and marketers to ensure promotional material is legal, transparent and provides equal opportunities for participants.

The regulator furthermore plans to update business promotion and games of chance regulations, while holding information and awareness workshops in educational centres, aimed at promoting responsible gambling and preventing gambling addiction.
