Blue Star Planet Limited will pay a financial penalty of £620,000 after the UK Gambling Commission found failings in its operations.

The operator, which trades as 10bet.co.uk in the UK, was found to have fallen short on social responsibility and anti-money laundering commitments.

A UK Gambling Commission investigation conducted in June 2021 found there were also deficiencies in Blue Star Planet’s responsible gambling policies, procedures, controls and practices including weaknesses in implementation.

The regulatory settlement consists of a £620,000 payment in lieu of a financial penalty, which will be directed towards socially responsible causes.

Blue Star Planet will also pay £3,571.25 towards the commission’s costs of investigating the case.

The UK regulator said aggravating factors included the “serious nature” of the breaches and that “senior management should have been aware of governance issues that led to the breaches.”

However, the UKGC said Blue Star Planet recognised its failings “early” and has been “co-operative.”
