Ladbrokes was left unable to pay out winning Grand National bets following a “technical error” on its website at the weekend.
The bookmaker’s website was overwhelmed, it has been reported, due to high demand from people betting on the Grand National, as well as the Scottish and English FA Cup semi-finals.
Ladbrokes apologised to those who had experienced problems and a spokesman from the company denied that there were delays with all of the bets placed online, instead saying there “may have been isolated instances.”
Paddy Power and Betfair also reportedly had problems due to the high volume of traffic, which was “significantly up on last year.”
