A year after Image and Form unleashed the App Store game, Anthill is set for a major update.
Following 12 months of five-star ratings and Game of the Week accolades, the real-time strategy game Anthill is set for a major content update on November 1. The deceptively simple game sees players marshall different streams of ants to defend the hill.
Image and Form CEO Brjann Sigurgeirsson said the success of Anthill had exceeded the Swedish developer’s expectations. “Every day we read new reviews from people saying it’s the best game on the App Store. In rare cases we get a four instead of a five - simply because they want more,” said Sigurgeirsson.
He added: “So we want to give them more to dig into… I guess we’ve grown addicted to top marks.” With reference to the game’s primary aim - to stop bugs overrunning the anthill - Sigurgeirsson said: “It’s fun, mesmerising, beautiful and a true iOS milestone. Millions love it already and we want millions more to help defend the hill.”
