Payment technology company Nuvei has been approved to support sports betting and igaming transactions in West Virginia, US.
The payments provider’s application for a West Virginia Lottery i-Gaming Interim Supplier licence and Sports Wagering Interim Supplier licence was approved by the state’s Lottery Commission.
West Virginia legalised sports betting in March, 2018, and the law became active with the US Supreme Court decision in May of that year.
Nuvei has also met vendor licensing requirements in Colorado and Indiana, authorising it to provide payment solutions on games in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and many other professional and amateur sports betting transactions.
So far 17 states in the US have legalised online sports betting and several more are working on legislation.
