More frustration for the online gambling industry in the Netherlands. Another delay has been announced to the country’s Remote Gambing Act.

Kansspelautoriteit

It was originally intended that it should be launched in January, 2021, but the dates have now been pushed back by the regulator, the Kansspelautoriteit (KSA).

Now the act is set to come into force in March, next year with the actual start of betting from September 1.

Sander Dekker, minister for legal protection in the Netherlands, told the Dutch Parliament that the legislation was to be delayed for two months to "create more space for all parties involved to prepare for the new law." The delay was attributed to the Covid-19 pandemic.
