The French gambling regulator has joined forces with a group of addiction research, education and treatment associations and professionals to strengthen its supervision of problem gambling.

The collaboration between L’Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ) and the Addiction Federation will focus on studies, prevention or support for those with gambling problems.
The two bodies will develop tools to support both players and addiction professionals, while the design of training programs and the joint organisation of related events will also be key to the partnership.
The first step of the collaboration will see the ANJ and the Addiction Federation carry out joint training activities and publish a document on the regulation of gambling for addiction professionals.
Joining forces with the Addiction Federation forms part of the ANJ’s 2024-26 strategic plan, which includes the “priority objective” of reducing the share and number of people with gambling problems in France.
The ANJ also wants to enable those suffering from problem gambling to better control their gaming practices through preventative actions, in addition to those implemented by public authorities.
