THE US online sports betting industry is going from strength to strength, as regulation is enacted, state by state. INTERGAMINGi interviewed one of the experts in the industry, Jennifer Roberts, director of sports gaming regulation at Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation, a state-owned lottery, who gives her insights on developments in the US sports betting industry.
“It’s pretty amazing to think that two years ago there was only one state in the entire US where you could legally wager on sports on a full scale. That said, there was a whole lot of sports wagering taking place through sites and apps operated outside of the US or local bookmakers operating out of neighbourhood businesses,” Roberts says.
