RESEARCH conducted in the UK by the Gambling Commission showed the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on gambling behaviour. Overall, participation decreased, the findings showed, but certain engaged players were spending more time and money, with the average spend increasing by 17 per cent in May compared to April.

The Commission issued updated guidance for operators, stating that licensees must interact with customers in such a way that the risk of gambling harms be minimised.
