Net Entertainment is renowned for the high quality graphics its games boast. Acting CEO Björn Krantz talks about the company's newest game, Robin Hood: Shifting Riches

Games with strong brand recognition provide an attractive tool for player acquisition and retention. As most of them have a global appeal and worldwide fan base, the games have great marketing appeal and opportunities for companies.

Known for the superior graphics that its games deliver, Net Entertainment boasts a portfolio of more than 100 games, including slots, table games, mini games, video poker, lottery and jackpot games. Among its newest games are Frankenstein – launched in June this year - and Robin Hood: Shifting Riches, a new premium game offering from Net Entertainment, with a public domain and a strong brand name, which is set to launch September 14. The company has plans to release further branded games in the near future.

“Each game is the result of extensive research and analysis”

“Each game is the result of extensive research and analysis in order to appeal to the intended player segment and we always deliver new and unique games to the market,” Björn Krantz, Net Entertainment’s acting CEO, told iNTERGAMINGi.

“Games with strong brand recognition are a great complement to our portfolio, which includes more than 100 casino games, all unique to attract and retain players to our customers,” he added.

Games with strong brand recognition have the advantage of attracting attention among both potential and existing players because of their global appeal, but the importance of these games in an operator’s portfolio is dependent on the operator’s player and market strategy.

Since its launch in June, Net Entertainment’s Frankenstein game has received “exceptionally good feedback” from customers and players. “The great work our development team did with the game has really paid off as Frankenstein, like every other Net Entertainment game, is filled with innovation and superior graphics,” said Krantz.

Krantz went on to talk about the company’s new game, Robin Hood: Shifting Riches, which is launching a week before the EiG show in Milan starts. “Tales of Robin Hood have been consistently written throughout history making it a highly recognised character. It is a popular and well-loved theme within the public domain offering excellent marketing opportunities for our clients.”

He added: “Robin Hood: Shifting Riches represents the best of Net Entertainment’s game development, introducing the ground-breaking new money bag and shifting reels feature.” The traditional spinning reels have been replaced with reels shifting to the right once a player hits a win on a bet line. Combined with an increasing multiplier up to five times, the shifting reels functionality offers increased winning opportunities and intense excitement.

Krantz said: “When players don’t stumble upon the shifting reels, they will see Robin Hood collecting money bags for them. Four money bags in the treasure chest trigger the free spins, which also includes an added extra wild feature increasing winning opportunities and high prize win capacity.

“The money bag feature is designed to save the collected bags up to one year adding a great sense of anticipation and excitement to the game. The money bag collection will make the players come back for more since they are always close to winning free spins.”

For Krantz, the key factor behind a successful online casino game is to understand what drives the players and their demands. “All our games are the result of extensive research and analysis. A core factor explaining the success of the Net Entertainment games is the high entertainment value delivered through rich graphics, intriguing bonus games, entertaining animations and innovative features and functions. The math in the game combined with variance, hit frequency and distribution of winnings between base and bonus game(s) are important factors to take into consideration. All Net Entertainment games have a high pay-out strategy and that has proven to be successful,” he commented.

Krantz has noticed small variations in trends between different markets. “Table games can be very popular in one market, while slots are the most popular product in another. As the world becomes more and more global, slowly, the different markets are becoming more similar.”

Looking ahead, Krantz sees the development of casino games for mobile devices progressing. Net Entertainment plans to launch its first mobile games at the end of 2011. “Gaming through mobile devices holds huge potential and is expected to become an increasingly important distribution channel going forward.”
