Lisa Duckworth, commercial director for the Isle of Man Post Office, talks to iNTERGAMINGi about the company’s focus on digital scratchcard and games offering.

Digital scratchcards

WITH its trusted status and experience as a post office and with direct access into the international postal stream, the Isle of Man Post Office is firmly establishing itself as a leading provider of reliable and cost-effective physical and digital secure direct-mail services to the gaming industry.

Although physically based on the Isle of Man, the post office business is multi-jurisdictional when it comes to undertaking mailings for large and small gaming clients.

In June 2013 it launched an innovative joint venture with UK mobile specialist BlueFish Media to provide a new digital marketing service aimed primarily at i-gaming operators. The team of i-gaming experts work closely with clients to develop a bespoke scratchcard campaign including a branded, multilingual mobile site which uses a simple URL link that requires no integration from the operator.

In addition to i-gaming operators, the Isle of Man Post Office/Bluefish Media initiative also offers many advantages to others within the i-gaming business cluster for the purposes of customer engagement, acquisition and retention.

For example, sports betting - which has been driving the boom in mobile betting and tipped to be a market worth more than $50bn by 2015 - presents many opportunities for uptake of the new service. Delivering time-critical reminder information in the form of odds on a football match, and other betting offers, may be an interesting application of using traditional direct mail campaigns with the introduction of these digital scratchcards and games in the quest to use mobile and smartphones as a channel to attract new customers.
