Following news last week about axe-throwing and mini-golf helping to revive adult fun locations in the UK, major operator XP Factory has confirmed the trend.

Announcing its results for the 15 months ended March 31, the company showed revenue up to £57.3m (the 12 months of 2022 were £22.8m) and CEO Richard Harpham commented that it was "another exceptional period of growth."

XP Factory has two brands, Escape Hunt and Boom Battle Bar. They encompass escape rooms and  competitive socialising with bars using axe throwing mini-golf, shuffleboard and other games.

Escape Hunt revenues rose to £16.7m (£9.8m for 12 months in 2022) and Boom Battle Bars showed revenue up £37.5m (£9.5m). Operating profit of £1.9m compared with the 12-month loss of £4.9m.

There are currently three Escape Hunt sites and one Boom Bar in the build stages.
