There is another postponement for the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Kuwait. The decision was taken by World Bowling, the governing body and QubicaAMF in face of the continuing pandemic restrictions.

Now the event will be held in October of 2021 instead of the replacement date in March.

Andrew Oram, CEO, World Bowling, said: “Given the continuous changing climate around the coronavirus, worldwide travel restrictions that remain in place and with the ultimate consideration, the health and safety of officials and players, we decided on a further postponement.”

He said that he felt that putting the event back to October allowed time to prepare for the necessary local qualifying events as well as the final itself.

Emanuele Govoni, CEO at QubicaAMF, commented: “We are committed to bowling. In 56 years hosting this tournament this is the first time we have been forced to postpone it. But we felt that it was unavoidable.”

The two organisations have established an Event Portfolio Working Group to seek new dates to reschedule vents once the pandemic subsides. The inaugural Para Bowling World Cup will also be postponed and is now set for May 2021, again in Kuwait, to avoid congestion of events.
