The US-based virtual reality developer VRstudios has released its first sports title, the basketball-themed game Hoops Madness.

Up to eight players can square off in a physical, fast-paced action match that the company said is sure to “leave them breathless.”

It has also recently added the Flex to its growing repertoire, a VR arena that is designed to be set up in underutilised space like meeting rooms that can be quickly converted.

Yoni Koenig, vice president of marketing, said: “Its low impact installation requires no intrusive hard construction, props or special markers, so it can invisibly coexist with the current use of the room. Operators get a meeting or party during the day but an amazing immersive VR sports arena by night.”

The set up installs in spaces between 30ft x 30ft and 40ft x 40ft, can be configured for up to eight active players and includes a portfolio of attraction titles including Terminal 17: Mission Critical, Barking Irons Gunslinger, VRcade PowerPlay, VR Showdown in Ghost Town and the newly created Hoops Madness.
