The Korean contingent was organised by the Korea Creative Content Agency, KOCCA, a government organisation dedicated to promoting the immersive and interactive content from Korean companies for the entertainment industry.

The Dubai organisation was handled by MENALAC, the trade association for the Middle East industry with the objective of forming partnerships between Korean content creators and leading operators in the Middle East.

The meeting took place during the Korea Brand and Content Expo that was held at the World Trade Centre and which attracted over 130 Korean exhibitors and it was the second workshop between KOCCA and MENALAC.

Sang Wook Park, senior manager of KOCCA UAE, opened the VR workshop stating “We are seeing high-demand of entertainment technologies from the region and we think our partnership with MENALAC is significant as it helps us reach out to a targeted leisure industry audience from MENA – an important market for the Korean content creators.”

On behalf of MENALAC, Prakash Vivekanand, secretary general, said: “We are indeed pleased to be associated with KOCCA yet again for this event. As trade council we aim to facilitate meaningful interactions and catalyze new partnerships between content creators and content users. The companies from Korea participating at this workshop had some exceptional content to offer for numerous leisure and enterprise solutions. With the many exciting opportunities that have been announced for the MENA region, VR and AR will have a prominent role to play in these new developments.”
