The Amusement Expo, the principal spring trade show of the US amusement industry, closed on Friday after a three-day run at the Las Vegas Convention Centre, Nevada, on an upbeat note, according to visitors.

The show, organised jointly by the AAMA, the manufacturers’ association, and the AMOA, the operators’ organisation, was said to be principally a US domestic event with comparatively few overseas visitors.

Comments included that from Michael Green of London’s UDC, who said: “The show was much better than last year; it had a real buzz and was very well attended, but mainly Americans. The mood among the factories and the operators is upbeat.”

Green felt that the co-habiting of the show with the Pizza Show and the Night Club and Bar Show in the same venue at the same time had benefits for all three events, especially with co-recognition of badges.

Gene Brogowski of ICE, the games manufacturer, commented: “If you have a strong product line then the show is spectacular.” ICE gave a debut to its new production-line model of the Harpoon Lagoon game, pictured.
