Pusher machine specialist VdW International has finally concluded a five-year battle to protect its intellectual property.
The Belgium-based company won an appeal against a previous court’s decision that a Dutch company has copied its Fun City machine.
Last week the Court of Appeal ruled that KMG Asia BV of the Netherlands had imported copies from the Far East. The Dutch company had lost in the initial case and had appealed the decision. The Court of Appeal, sitting in Leeuwarden, Netherlands, confirmed the first judgement of the court in Groningen that the KMG Asia’s Treasure Island was a copy of Fun City.
KMG Asia, by the court ruling, is no longer permitted to produce or sell Treasure Island or any machine similar in appearance.
