Major US theme parks company Cedar Fair Entertainment reports a record 3.2m season passes sold for the 2022 season and strong bookings at its resort properties in its second quarter.

The Ohio-based group is one the largest regional theme park operators in the world, with 11 parks, four water parks and hotels with 2,300 rooms, plus RV sites. It operates in 10 US states and in Ontario in Canada.
Net revenues totalled a record US$509m, up US$285m on the comparable quarter of 2021 and up 17 per cent on the same quarter of 2019. Net income was US$51m, an increase of US$110m on the Covid-hit same period of last year.
Adjusted EBITDA was US$171m, up US$169m on last year. Its attendance was 7.8m, up 4.4m on the same period of last year, but down eight per cent on the same period of 2019.
