Home Run Dugout is a new baseball entertainment venue for the Texas town of Katy.

Taking its place beside other popular sports entertainment options like Popstroke and Andretti's Indoor Karting and Games at the Grand West Boulevard development in Katy, Home Run Dugout is said to be "similar in concept" to Topgolf with its offering of tech-laden sports and eatery.
The 46,000sq.ft venue is set to open in mid-March, according to the Houston Chronicle, and will provide 12 batting bays, each able to accomodate 12 batters and all equipped with F&B service.
The Katy location will be Home Run Dugout's second venue, with the first in Austin.
General manager of the upcoming venue Colby Smith said: “You hit the ball into the screen, and then sensors overhead pick up the ball’s flight characteristics, its direction, its velocity, etc., and then it shows you a simulated ball flight path.” Smith described it as "like you're playing a big video game.”
Smith continued: "The stadiums in the gameplay can be customized to any stadium in the country,.
"You can set it to where you’re playing at Fenway or Minute Maid Park or Wrigley Field. Whatever you want."
There will also a sports bar and restaurant on site.
