In a sneak preview, Sega has revealed to InterGame some of the products it will be unveiling at this month’s IAAPA trade show in Orlando, Florida.

In addition to the Sonic games that have been well documented, the company says that it will show a new video game, Target Bravo: Operation Ghost, a new two-player game with a 55ins theatre cabinet. The object is to take the role of a special forces agent and use weapons, gadgets and special equipment to defeat enemies.
Let’s Go Island Dream Edition is a “reimagined" game and a follow-up to the big hit Let’s Go Jungle. In the case of the new game, players are set on a South Pacific island and fight gangs of pirates using a huge 55-inch screen and rapid-fire effects.
Two new children’s games will be on show, Dinosaur Catcher and Pump the Balloon. The former is a colourful, fun-filled children’s ticket redemption game with 19 different dinosaurs to catch. Pump the Balloon is an activity-based game in which players have to catch as many balloons as they can using a pump action controller. Again, it is a ticket redemption product.
“We wanted to bring something different to the kid’s game genre. So with Dinosaur Catcher we created a simple-to-understand, fun, two-player game, that encouraging adults and friends to play side by side. The 43ins display in a small footprint cabinet with optional seat, makes this game perfect for shopping malls and any family entertainment centre,” explained Paul Williams, managing director of Sega Amusements International.
Still with children in mind, Sega will launch Let’s Go Safari in which children take the wheel of an expedition vehicle taking them to exotic places where they will see and learn about animals and their habitats. Tickets are awarded for skilful driving and using the vehicle’s controls.
When asked about the game Justin Burke, general manager at Sega, said: “Combining education with entertainment is a proven formula and with Let’s Go Safari we have taken kiddie ride cabinet design one step further by creating enough space for two children or an adult and child to enjoy this shared experience.”
In addition, the company will show all the new Sonic range already covered in previous issues, including the Sonic Dash Extreme and Sonic Blast Ball, Sonic Air Hockey, Sonic Basket Ball and Sonic Kiddie Ride, all launched to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the popular character. Also featured will be Magician’s Wheel, another game already featured in our pages, as well as other recent hits including Luigi’s Mansion and Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Arcade Edition.
