The current state of the nation’s pub market was highlighted yesterday on the opening day of the UK industry summit, the EAG trade show at ExCeL, London.

Trends in the market were outlined by Simon Barff, managing director of CLMS, who headed up a panel of experts outlining the value of non-gaming revenue such as pool and music in pubs.
UK Hospitality CEO Kate Nichols had previously stated at November’s Bacta Convention that machine revenue is a vital factor in the profitability of pubs.
Also contributing to the debate from the panel were Quentin Stott, managing director of Reflex Gaming, Nick Rudd, managing director of The Rudd Group, Chris Black, managing director of Sound Leisure and Pauline Bass, director of customer and guest experience at the Stonegate Group.
They were introduced by Peter Davies (picured), chairman of the association’s Gaming Council.
