Adventure Island and Paultons Park are the UK's top ranking theme parks according to research published this week.

Adventure Island

Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea was named Britain’s Best Theme Park by discount code specialist BravoVoucher after it analysed the ticket price, star rating, review sentiment, and the number of rides and attractions of different theme parks.

The park, according to the analysts, has the ninth most rides and attractions in the UK, and with an online, bought-in-advance entry price of £20 boasts the fifth cheapest cost per ride, working out at around 53p - over half the national average of £1.30. The park also sits among the top ten parks with the most frequent positive mentions in Tripadvisor reviews.

Second came Woodlands Family Theme Park at Totnes, Devon; third was Drayton Manor at Tamworth; then Paultons Park at Romsey in Hampshire; followed by Fantasy island at Skegness. Larger parks Alton Towers came in seventh, while Blackpool Pleasure Beach was listed tenth.

Meanwhile, Pautons Park hit the headlines a second time this week after event listings specialist Time Out reported that based on reviews it had risen to the top of Tripadvisor's UK theme park rankings.
