AWPs

WITH only one year to go until its 50th anniversary, the AWP has a long and interesting history, culminating in a large part of the street market in the countries where it is popular. These include many countries in Europe and South Africa.

Outside of these territories, the Japanese pachinko market is perhaps similar to AWPs - minus the cash prizes of course - but for the most part they are to be found in Europe. Legislation, successful regulation, affordability, custom and practice have been the main reasons for AWPs’ European presence.
