Looking ahead to this month’s EAG International Expo

Industry set to converge in London Industry set to converge in London

This month, the international amusement industry will descend on London for the fourth annual EAG International Expo. This high-profile and well-attended event provides the industry with an opportunity to kick off the new year in style, continuing a tradition that only a few years ago seemed in doubt.

“London has hosted an amusement expo in the third week of January for over 70 years, so EAG International Expo is carrying on an important tradition,” said organiser Karen Cooke, who has steered the show to great success in only a few short years.

Describing the show as “organised for the industry from within the industry,” Cooke explained that EAG is a very focused show and it is this that has seen it so well received by those within the sector.

“Many attendees view EAG International as the curtain raiser on the new year and an opportunity to see the latest products and games from over 150 represented manufacturers.”

The location itself is an important factor, she explained.

“ExCel is one of the world’s premier exhibition venues, with the surrounding area continuing to benefit from investment in hotels, transport infrastructure, leisure and entertainment. Exhibitors appreciate the ease of access, the general lack of fuss and the high level of support given by ExCel staff.”

One of the show’s biggest achievements in its short history is just how quickly it has established itself as a key trade event for the global amusement industry. Over the past four years, EAG has grown to become a truly international show and continues to expand significantly, with 20 new companies preparing to exhibit at ExCel for the first time.

“As EAG has grown in stature,” said Cooke, “we have seen a steady flow of newcomers and an ever wider geographical spread.”
