While some manufacturers and operators feel the effect of the recession and a downturn in sales, for Argentina-based debit card system manufacturer Sacoa, it would seem the economy is actually having a positive effect on business.

According to company owner Jorge Mochkovsky, it would seem more operators are seeing the benefits to debit card systems and realising they cannot afford to keep running their locations without better control.

Speaking to InterGame at the ASI show in Las Vegas last week, he said: "There are also the additional benefits to the system we provide, which are in turn going to make the operator more money as well as saving them money. In some cases operators are finding their profits have risen 50 per cent."

This positivity was also reflected in his comments on the ASI show. "We have had a great show and much better than expected. We have made some good contacts and there has been a higher number of international visitors, which is unusual for this show."

Sacoa’s success is not bound to the US though, with new installations in Venezuela and Colombia in South America and in particular Bacano Games, which has just opened.
