Funtopia+ will be introduced at IAAPA next month when the show opens in Orlando, Florida.

Funtopia Franchising will be taking a booth at the show to display the new solution for active entertainment centres that allows visitors to transfer the action from the venue to their own homes.

Powered by Gamifier, Funtopia+ is “a key element to the entertainment centre of the future,” said Tania Kishkin, CEO of Funtopia Franchising. “It combines physical interaction with the digital experience kids love so much. It involves out visitors in a new type of adventure from the moment that they step inside the facility and scanning the bracelet only sets the beginning of the action.”

She said that the solution is the company’s direct response to the global gamification trends now evident in society. “We introduce the digital gaming element to the real-life active entertainment experience in a way that is fun, curious, challenging and motivates participants to come and play the game again. Not only that, since we believe in a healthy lifestyle, where physical exercises are of the highest importance, we implemented a calorie-burning indicator into the game to show the number of calories burned by the player during the session.”

A website has been built to work in sync with the POS software at the Funtopia locations. It permits visitors to check the number of points they have collected and see where they rank in the leaderboard of the venue.

“In addition, you can choose from a variety of customised avatars, level-up by accumulating points, invite friends to play and exchange your tokens for rewards and merchandise,” Kishkin said. “You can also unlock new cooler avatars to create clans and get achievements because our brains have a natural desire to achieve.”

Funtopia has recently opened the largest indoor adventure play centre in Australia at Carrum Downs in Melbourne. The location has the world’s largest fully immersive, fun climbing adventure area of its type with walls fully interchangeable and interactive. This means that the 40 climbing challenges are regularly altered to challenge different skill sets and levels.

The company is hosting an Insight Seminar in Orlando to fit in with IAAPA schedules, in concert with Walltopia, where a fully functional Funtopia active entertainment centre in over 500sq.m of space will be demonstrated. It will be held on November 18 between 2-6pm at the Rosen Plaza Hotel on International Drive.
