Having been an economic powerhouse since time immemorial, the US is still the innovative hub of the industry, owing to the hardworking mindset of its population, writes Ian Donegan.

“I’M just like my country – I’m young, scrappy and hungry” – the iconic refrain from Hamilton: An American Musical, a multi-Tony award winning Broadway show about the country’s first treasury of state, Alexander Hamilton, set in the 18th century, and a quintessential example of the American dream. A boy of illegitimate birth, raised in abject poverty grows to be one of the most powerful people in the newly formed United States of America.

It is now two and a half centuries after the show takes place and the US is one of the most innovative and powerful countries in the world. The most dominant companies in the world, including Apple, Disney, Amazon, Netflix, Google, McDonalds, Facebook and Uber all hail from the US.
