The first opportunity to look at the crop of new amusement equipment on the market for UK domestic operators comes next week, with arcade owners focusing on London’s ILEC for the Autumn Coin-op Show.

ACOS

ACOS opens on Wednesday of next week (October 18) for a two-day extravaganza that fits well with operators’ planning for the next year.

Trends are likely to be the focus on cashless, with much debate about the likelihood of changes in the upcoming new gaming legislation, and the show will see several alternatives, notably from GPT and E-Service.

In the Category C and B3 sectors, Blueprint will have much to show on its stand and Genesis and Reflex will be targeted by low-stakes/prizes operators.

In amusements the stands of Bandai Namco Amusement Europe and Sega will be a big draw, as will Electrocoin, JNC, Crown/Harry Levy, SB and of course UDC.

Anticipation of ACOS is overshadowing everything else this week, understandably, but it is by no means all that’s going on this week.

A surprise visit to Blackpool for a Hollywood icon, the first Lego-themed mini-golf opening, some depressing news about further venue losses - pubs - for Category C machines and a controversial proposal that doctors should quiz patients about their gambling habits all make the headlines up and down the country.
