Spree Arena is Happy City's first VR attraction, generating a record-breaking month for the venue with Col$13,959,000 in revenue.

The attraction from Spree Interactive has meant that operators of the Medellin location have been able to charge the venue's highest price-per-play, said to be more than double that of its video or redemption arcade attractions.

Happy City's new attraction, which only requires one operator, joins a host of other popular pay-to-play attractions at the venue, with an additional 1,400 visitors brought in by players working to generate a high ROI.

Spree Interactive stated: "The company is constantly looking to offer the latest immersive attractions and innovative solutions; that’s why Happy City decided to enter into the virtual reality world with the family-friendly Spree Arena."

Adrian Mercado, marketing director at Happy City, said: “The Spree Arena arrived at our venue as part of a complete renovation that is being made to our FEC; this attraction complements our offering by adding an interactive and kid-friendly virtual reality space. As a multi-target attraction, our main objective is to attract traffic and increase the time spent in our family entertainment centre, and the Spree Arena is helping us to meet this objective.”

Camilo Calle, managing director at Happy City, said: “The SpreeArena has been a game changer for our business. It has helped us attract new customers by offering an innovative, fun, multiplayer attraction perfect for our target demographic of 6-12-year-olds. The extensive game catalogue and the high number of players per game convinced us that Spree was the ideal solution for our venue.

"New titles are always being added to the platform, with experiences spanning age ranges and group sizes to provide a unifying and transportive experience for visitors."

Happy City operates in 27 cities around Colombia, with more than 40 years in the FEC business.
