Spielo International is aiming to make inroads in the Spanish street market following a new deal.

Sphinx Sphinx

The company is to enter the bar market in Spain through its recently signed contract with Costa Cálida, giving the latter exclusive distribution rights for the local type B market.

A three-month field trial is already under way in the Murcia and Valencia regions, where Spielo International’s delite cabinets, featuring the globally-proven top performer, Sphinx, have been installed in bars as well as in arcades. Approximately 1,000 delite cabinets will be installed across Spain during the first year and increased numbers are expected for subsequent years.

“We are pleased to be working with such a strong distribution partner as Costa Cálida,” said Spielo International’s Don Doucet, vice president of business strategy and development. “We have an established presence in the Spanish casino market and our goal is to become a leading manufacturer in the Spanish type B market over the next few years, recreating the success we’ve had in Italy.”

Juan Nicolás Sánchez, CEO of Costa Cálida, said the “collaborative” approach taken by the two companies will enable them to respond to players’ needs.
