Kate Shane has concluded 13 very successful years with Merlin Entertainments to become managing director of Blackpool Council’s leisure portfolio.
Shane will take up the challenge of the One Blackpool’ vision designed to take the UK’s premier seaside resort into the next decade. It has a £2bn-plus growth and prosperity programme that includes new attractions, hotels and cultural experiences.
Shane’s career at Merlin led her to take charge of all of Blackpool’s Merlin interests, which include the Tower, Sandcastle water park and Madame Tussauds.
