An initiative to help compulsive gamblers to self-exclude from arcades in the UK has been put together by the British trade association, BACTA, and SmartEXCLUSION, a paperless self-exclusion solution.
Users will be able to notify other adult gaming centre operators in their locality of self-exclusions which may have taken place at their premises. It is expected that the project will be in place by November 1 of this year.
From April 2016 AGC operators in the UK have had the responsibility to inform other operators of players who wish to exclude themselves. Until now, with two systems in the market, self-excluders have had to register with both in two different locations. The new system permits the two existing systems to be integrated, meaning that only one registration is necessary.
