A former retail unit at a mall in Humble, Texas, US, is getting ready to be transformed into a 150,000sq.ft FEC.

Located in a former Sears store at the Deerbrook Mall, Score Entertainment will become the biggest entertainment centre in the state, according to its owner.

Attractions for the venue at to include go-karting, bowling, VR, axe throwing and laser tag, reports whatnow.com.

Around US$2m will be spent on the renovation, with construction set to begin at the start of June and finished in around a year.

The site Score is set to occupy has been empty since 2020 and is another example of entertainment filling the hole in malls left by the collapse of traditional retail.

As well as the entertainment options, the venue will also serve F&B, with classic American food like burgers on offer, alongside giant screens showing sports.

Score Entertainment has also announced the opening of another venue in Houston, Texas, but did not mention a specific location.
