The entertainment industry in Saudi Arabia continues to grow after the country’s General Entertainment Authority issued 1,673 licences for entertainment activities during the first quarter of 2024.

The number is an increase of 28 per cent when compared with the same period last year.

Licences are needed for a variety of purposes such as entertainment events, live shows, amusements parks and FECs. In total, 97 licences for new entertainment destinations were issued.

216 licences were issued in the capital Riyadh, while 101 were issued for Makkah. The Eastern Province was granted 76, while the Qassim region received 37.

The total number of visitors to events in all regions of the country was more than 11 million.
