A VR operator is set to open its first European site later this month.

Sandbox VR's cutting-edge technology tracks each players entire body

Sandbox VR, which runs 24 locations across five countries, is opening up in London in late July 2022.

Founded by Steve Zhao, it opened its first location in 2017 and has expanded rapidly.

Sandbox VR and its in-house development studio has developed VR experiences such as Star Trek: Discover Away Mission, Inbound Fighting League, Amber Sky 2088 and Deadwood Valley.

During the game the player’s entire body is tracked using a state-of-the-art motion tracking system.

Michael Hampden, vice president of content at Sandbox VR, commented: “As Sandbox VR continues to push the boundaries for location based virtual reality content, we are establishing what is essentially a new genre in video games.

“Unlike many traditional video games however, Sandbox VR experiences are extremely intuitive and enjoyed by gamers and non-gamers alike. Sandbox VR experiences feature a lot of agency, and groups have to work together and make tough decisions which will affect how each experience plays out.”
