Roxy Leisure, the UK-based operator of entertainment venues, has announced the creation of a new division, Pins Leisure, as it expands into the family market.

Pins Social

It comes off the back of its launch of King Pins, a bowling venue at Trafford Palazzo, Manchester, earlier this year.

The company says that it has been launched to focus on further expansion into family-led competitive socialising.

Three more King Pins sites are now planned at Arndale in Manchester, Cabot Circus in Bristol and the Silverburn shopping centre in Glasgow.

The new King Pins venues will feature both tenpin and duckpin bowling, as well as ice-free curling, batting cages, shuffleboard, air hockey and arcades. A premium bar offering and extensive food menu will also be on offer.

Matt Jones, CEO of Roxy Leisure, said: “Following the success we have seen with the expansion of Roxy Lanes and Roxy Ball Room, I am excited by this new growth opportunity, giving our business a broader consumer appeal. Pins Leisure will use all the knowledge we have gained over 10 years’ experience in competitive socialising to develop multi format gaming venues targeted at families. We already have a strong growth pipeline and will be accelerating our search for new sites across the country.”

As part of the expansion, Colin Sadler has joined the company to lead the Pins Leisure division. Sadler was previously managing director of Pitcher & Piano, Lost & Found and the Revere Pub Company.

Speaking on the appointment, Jones said: “‘I am delighted that Colin Sadler has agreed to join us to head up our new Pins Leisure division. Colin has experience creating and scaling leisure retail brands nationwide which will prove to be particularly useful in the next phase of our growth.”
